Wow Wow Wow Moments

I spent the last few days in Colorado visiting my son. First WOW: The seatbelt on the plane fit! Second WOW: The tray table could be lowered all the way down. Third WOW: My knees didn't bump the seat back in front of me. Apparently, my formerly fat butt was the previous culprit and not my long legs. Fourth WOW: When I got off the plane in Denver and when I walked, I wasn't breathless at higher altitude as I have been in the past. Fifth WOW: My son's "wow" when he saw me. Sixth WOW: I went into a sporting goods store and didn't wonder if people were wondering what I was doing there. Seventh WOW: I went all day long and had energy! WooHoo! I just had to share! Katy B

Lori, You are looking so good! I actually asked to have my photo taken on the trip! I didn't want to lug my nice camera so I took pics with a disposable and as soon as I use the whole thing up, I will post new ones. I promise. Hugs, Caters

Sharon, The little changes ganged up on me and it was awesome! Isn't Dr. McDaniel awesome? He gave me a stern talking to just before surgery but I needed it. He has been so encouraging since. I go to a support group for his and Dr. Chang's patients and I am so impressed with their aftercare. Plus I love their follow through of "the first six months after surgery I am your doctor not just your surgeon", instead of trying to figure out what is primary care physician area vs. surgeon vs. somebody else. When I told my regular doctors (PCP, chiropractor, OB/GYB) that I was going to have the surgery. The first question they all asked was who was my surgeon. When I told them each time, each doctor dropped his reserve and immediately supported the surgery if he was going to perform it. That really eased the last of my nerves. Do you have to drive to Victoria for checkups and vitamins or does he have Houston office hours like he does for those of us nearer Corpus Christi? Isn't this an awesome ride? Katy B

I remember hearing something about him being in Corpus one day, but I don't know if he has hours in Houston... I'll have to find out when I go in on Friday for my B12.... and even if he doesn't, my family still lives in this area, so maybe I'll just use it as an excuse to visit... that's what I did when my Dr. was still in Cuero and I lived in Vic... I'll have to at least come back for my 6 month bloodwork and then my 6month appointment... but if he doesn't have hrs in Houston I may ask if he knows of an office he would reccomend where I can just get my B12 and come back to his office like every 3 months or something... I'll figure it all out! and besides, my best friend is also moving to Houston in the same apts as me and she also had the surgery in May '06 so we could take turns driving down to come get our B12 and vitamins etc...
