Eating too much?
I think I can eat more than I'm supposed to be able to. Mostly, I think I've begun to eat more often than I'm supposed to. I get the late night munchies/cravings again. I usually end up having a little cream of wheat or a no sugar added popscicle.
I didn't think it was possible this early to stretch out our pouch. I'm pretty sure that is my surgeon said. I knew our new pouch does some settling but as far as stretching, I don't know. I'll have to do some research.
Adrianne- I acutally have also heard that it is extremely hard to stretch the pouch out after and RNY because unlike the older types of bypass, the top part of the stomach that is used for the pouch in the RNY is not very elastic. When you here of people rebounding and gaining all their weight back, it is from the older type of surgery. I hope this is true, but again, I still worry all the time that I am going to blow this!

I need to jump on this bandwagon. I get nervous that I am eating too much too. Sometimes, I can barely eat 2-3 bites of something, and others, I can eat the whole darned thing.
I went to Uno's with my Mom and got the chicken lettuce wraps (awesome by the way), well, I ate the whole thing.
My mother kept telling me that I was eating too much, but I was not even feeling full. It took me about 45min to eat it, but I did. I wonder if as we are eating and taking our time, our pouches are emptying at the same time making more room?
Just a thought. I am with you all on this, and the cravings???? Don't even get me started on those.

Hey Crystal..actually I read on the main board if it takes you longer than 20 minutes to eat, thats exactly what happens. The food is emptying out. Also things like lettuce you can eat more of because it chews down to nothing. I wish we had a Uno's. That sounds pretty good! You probably ate less than u think because it couldnt have had more than a cup of chicken and stuff inside, I think thats a really healthy choice!!

Hi Crystal, This happens to me too. Now I know that I was able to eat that hamburger, with bun, because it took me an hour to do it. Whew, what a relief. I'm still losing but was a little scared at the thought I could eat a whole burger. Haven't done it since, have not even tried but did wonder. Thanks for posting this, I feel so much better. I just got out of the hospital yesterday. Check out my site if you care to know more. It was a result of my RNY but I'm better now.

Thanks for having the guts to post my fears I have been beating myself up for the same things... I did it with a McDonald's asian chicken (grilled lol) salad... freaked out for days after that.
But I do think that if we simply backtrack some and go back to dense protein and less side dishes our stomachs will *go back down* for lack of a better term.
Seriously, thanks for speaking up... and for inspiring me to stop freaking and start moving!
