Bad Choices

Man...Today started out ok...but I had to go to the doctor and take my daughter to the orthodontist...so I did not pack a lunch. So when I got to work I worked for a little while and then decided to go to the cafe to get something to eat. Why do they not have anything healthy to eat in the cafe? If it is healthy..it costs an arm and a leg and I dont want to spend that much money on something I am not going to be able to eat. Side dish of chicken salad or egg salad is like $3.21 or a small grill chicken patty is almost $4 and a reg salad is $5 which will go bad before I can eat it all. I am too cheap to pay (anymore any way cause I had been buying it) the runny egg salad for that much money when I can buy a entire carton of eggs with that money. So anyway....because I did not have a lot of options, I took the cheap route and got a corn dog for $1.50, took the breading off and ate the entire hot dog! It was good but it was also big and I could not believe I was able to eat the entire hot dog. I had to hurry and throw the breading away because it smelled so good and I wanted to eat it...well I actually did have two small pieces of it. So anyway...I tell you this tool we have is wonderful but the mental part of it is probably always going to be a challenge. And I am still amazed at the amount of food I can eat right now. That hot dog was huge! And I didnt feel full when I was done. So anyway...this is me just rambling today. Talk to you guys soon.

Hey Stephanie - first of all, where is that gorgeous new pic of you?????? I don't see it when you post anymore?? Second, don't beat yourself up. You know that your tool is working for you, look at all of the weight you've lost. Also, I am sure pre-op you would have been able to eat much more than that hotdog right? Plus, you didn't do all that bad, you took the breading off! So, don't beat yourself up, learn from your mistake and move on. You've done no damage and I am sure you'll keep losing!

Hey Janie! I am getting my hair styled tonight so I am going to take a picture tonight to post! I thought the last picture was too orange looking and I looked dorkey! lol And thank you so much for the encouaragement. You are so right in that before the surgery I would have eating probably two corndogs with the breading and some fries and a drink! And then dessert. So now that you have put it in a new light, I do feel better. Thanks again!!

Hi Stephanie, Awww don't be hard on yourself. I went shopping with my oldest daughter today and took a protein bar which I think taste gross. I did take the time to eat it but I know what you mean about the surgery being a tool. I think I am having head hunger lately. I have been looking in the cupboards for something to eat. I always end up with pretzels. I guess it helps that my children are all grown and no longer live at home. My hubby is thin but is very supportive. When I make pudding for me I make him the pudding with sugar and that is our evening snack. I wonder if anyone has tried popcorn. I would love a cup of that. Well have a better day tomorrow. Roxanne

Thanks Roxanne!! And yes several of us have had popcorn with out any problems. I went to the movies about three weeks ago and had the "bad" popcorn! It was heavenly! Good Luck when you try the popcorn!

Pop corn is one of my weaknesses and I guess fortuantely for me I have not had a problem eating it. I buy the Smart Pop mini's or the 100 calorie mini bags. They have butter or kettle corn. I eat the whole bag in an evening. They may be too much, you might want to just start with a cup. Or take the mini bag and put it in two zip lock baggies.

Me too! The kettle corn is the bomb! I try to limit myself to a couple of popcorn feasts (ok, the 100 cal packs) per week just so I don't get into the whole evening snacking thing again....but I LOVE IT! Margaret
