Im two weeks away from being 4 months post-op, I had LAP-RNY and for a while I didnt believe I even had the surgery because I felt great...then I ran into some stomach/ulcer problems and was always achey but now I have a different kind of soreness...Its not my actual stomach anymore its the muscles...like Ive been doing tons of sit ups (which I can assure you I have not)...any idea why? I havent done much to pull the muscles and my tummy just feels so hard- right up around my top two incisions, its kind of high up. Its nothing alarming just annoying. Anyone else have this or anything similar?

Hi Angela, I had Gastric Bypass on Jan 12. I don't know if this is really that different but I told my Dr. I had soreness and pains sometimes. Especially if I bump up against something or brush something off my shirt. He told me that it was most likely the nerve endings that were cut and are still healing. So I think that is what it is with me. Maybe the same for you. Take it maybe a little easier and try something different for exercise. I hope this might help you. Good Luck. Roxanne

Hi Angela! Long time no "see"! Good to see ya. At times the areas around my incisions are sore to the touch too. I have not asked my surgeon about it because I figured it was just normal.

Angela, I'd call your surgeon, just to be safe. If your pouch connections are inflamed or something you want to be sure to know. Not to be an alarmist, but with this, better safe than sorry for sure. Good luck, Michele

Angela, sounds like a hernia to me. If your muscles hurt and seem hard. I would check with your surgeon. He would be able to tell just by feeling around. Hope this helps... Anna
