My body is in starvation mode
I went to my 3 month post-op today and that's what they told me. That is why I am only losing 1-2 lbs a week. I was told I need to eat at least 800 on up to 1000 cal a day. My body is holding on to the lbs. Hopefully this info will help some of you as well. They did say I am doing very good though. I was low on my vitamin D though so will need to switch to pill form so I will take it. So I am going to up the amount of times I eat but going to make it good protein calories. Hopefully that will kick it back in gear.

Hi Anna...
May I ask how many calories you were averaging per day? I was having trouble getting in more that 600-700 for a couple of weeks and I, too, think that was why I was in a stall for 2 weeks. Definately try to work a few more in there... between that and Lindy's fairy dust ~LOL~ I finally got that scale moving again. Good luck to you.

Anna, Congrats on your weight loss and your 3 mo. checkup. I'm also concerned about being in starvation mode. My 3 mo. checkup is tomorrow and I'm praying I'll hit the 40# mark. One of those so close but no cigar things. I hit 40# one time and of course went up a couple. I've noticed I fluctuate 2 - 4 lbs. throughout the week so I take the lowest..........lol (keeps me going). Keep us posted on how eating more is helping you. Good Luck and keep up the great work!
I too am at a stall for a week now. I have never counted calories just protein. So I guess I had better start. Maybe I will move the scale. You said 800 to 1000. My big fear is I will eat to much and gain weight. So I have been trying to eat the same things. I guess maybe more variety might help to. Thanks for posting this. Roxanne
Hi Anna,
Long time no chat. Looks like you are doing well. When I saw that you are down 60+ pounds, I could see you have not been messing around. That's awesome. Losing 1-2 lbs a week isn't bad at the lower weight you are at now. I am at 174 and I lose that usually, the lighter I get the less I lose weekly but the inches, well they seem to keep going. Great job overall hon! You are doing fantastic!
