Change in workout

I went into today for my 3 month post op appointment and was pleasently surprised when I stepped on the scale. I have officially lost 60 lbs since my surgery date!! Now the Doc wants me to change my workout and get away from what he says is the easy treadmill and weights. He said that I better be sweating and cussing him out and if there is not pain then I should not be doing. Can anyone give me some suggestions on what you are doing for "intense" workouts? I would like to get started on this soon and I am having a hard time because there are no 24 hour gyms near by and I need to do something at 4 o'clock in the morning before I go to work.

Wow, I'm sorry I don't have any suggestions. I am sure there is not an aerobics class going on at 4 am right? How about you just do the treadmill a little harder? I workout pretty much everyday, I jog and it's a little intense, but no where like what your doc is recommended. I'm afraid if I worked out like that I probably wouldn't stick to it, too painful! lol! Good luck to you! Why does your doc want you to up your workout routine? To change the subject, who is that in your avatar with you? It looks like Tomy Lee. Oh, congrats on your 60 lb loss, that's great.

Thanks for the congrats and that is my best friend Derrick. He is the lead singer of a local band here. You can see some better pictures of him at fongjonesband.com. Someone else just told me he looked like Tommy Lee the other day while others say Tom Green. Not so sure how he could look like 2 people that are sooooo different

Hi - congratulations on losing so much.... I recently just changed to doing cardio kick boxing and that is really kicking my butt.... I just don't know if any places would be open that early in the am. What if you got a dvd of some intense work out ?? I usually work out after 8 pm - since I don't get home till 7 ish and my karate school is open till 10 pm. The elyptical is also great for intense workouts - usually alot of different workouts programmed in the machine. Good luck... Marta
