I want answers!
Hi Angela. Sorry to hear about your pain. Our surgery dates are close and I went to the ER last week for severe pain. They did a few tests, couldn't find anything, then called my surgeon. She admitted me and did more tests. When she did the endoscope she saw a stricture starting to form. She stretched it, then saw some bleeding, and said I must have an ulcer right where the stricture was. Anyway, she put me on more Prevacid and some other stuff for the ulcer. Today I feel 100% better, but we're still not completely sure where all the pain was coming from. Sometimes, all they can do is rule out the serious stuff and you can at least be somewhat reassured. Hope this helps and you feel better soon. Jen
Hi Angela, I am so sorry you are having to go through this. I don't have any answers either but wanted to let you know that I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers that this gets taken care of quickly. I hope your doctors appointment will shed some light on what is going on. Please keep us updated.
big hugs coming your way!!
Anna
Hi Angela. I'm like everyone else, no real answers for you, but I wish you the best.
After I had surgery I went through some tough days where I would experience a very similar pain, which I compared to child birth. It was EXCRUCIATING, but I was told it was very possibly severe gas. Have you tried chewing Gas-X before you eat to see if that helps? It was a tremendous help for me, but I also think it's best to rule out the big stuff first.
Hi Angela,
sorry to hear you are having so much pain. It does sound like you have a stricture or ulcer or a combination of both. While I have not had either a co-worker who had WLS a year ago did have similar pain to what you have. She ended up with a completely closed stoma and an ulcer where the intestines had been attached to the stomach. Liquid diet and meds took care of it for her.
Hope you find relief.
Rich
