I was bad and I am paying for it!!

Ok, about 2 weeks ago I had a bladder infection. Well, I got some antibiotics and after taking them for 2 days I felt much better but I had gained two pounds. Not sure if it was the antibiotics or if I was just holding in water because I felt like I could never pee all the way (that's what a bladder infection feels like) so maybe I had a full bladder? Anyways, I gained two pounds and I blamed it on the antibiotics and even stopped taking them!!! Well, I dropped the 2 pounds and then some, so yeah it was the antibiotics that caused the slight weight gain. Well, I stopped taking the antibiotics and felt fine until two days ago. OMG it hurt so bad, the bladder infection was back but this time only worse. I went back on the antibiotics, confessed to my doctor and he even called me in some vicodin for the pain, it was so bad. Yeah, I've gained 1 1/2 pds since taken the macrobid on Sunday. I know it's because of that, because I am barely eating. So, I've learned my lesson. LISTEN TO YOUR DOCTOR AND NEVER QUIT TAKING A MED UNLESS YOUR DOCTOR SAYS TOO!!!!!!!!!!!! UGH!

Janie, Surely the weight will drop back off after you finish the meds. I used to have UTI's all the time. I just hope you don't get the yeast infection afterwards. I always do after a course of antibotics. Sandy

Girl, I feel your pain! I have had some killer UTI's, bladder infections, and one even went to my kidneys. I know how horrible the pain can be. Sorry you are going through it, but glad you are atleast on track with the meds now! Wishing you a speedy recovery! Belle

I was always told your body tries not to lose weight when it's sick or healing...get better and it will come off!!! UTI's are the pits!! I hope you are feeling better soon!!! Holly

Thanks guys. UTI's suck huh? Seriously I feel like such a big baby, but it's so uncomfortable! I was crazy to quit taking the antibiotic. I WON'T be doing that again. UGH!

Hope you feel better soon!! And you are not being a big baby! Pain is pain and UTI pain is even worse than regular pain!! I had my first one last year and I thought I was going to die...I wanted to die!! lol

Janie, so sorry you had to go through that. Yes always listen to your doc. The weight gain is only temporary so don't fret. You'll be back in the game in no time. Anna

Oh girl...I feel your pain. Those hurt! Glad you're gonna listen to the Dr. this time so it doesn't come back. I'm pretty sure the weight will come off after you stop the meds again. Just hang in there....just a little detour on your long journey. You'll get back on track once you get thru this. Rhonda
