Here I am this 300 pound woman from Alabama (where it is always hot, haven't even seen snow in 9 years) and I am freezing!!! I have on a sweater and gloves sitting here at my desk!! I knew once I got closer to a "normal" size that I would not be a sweaty pig, *****ing about be hot all the time but this is just crazy!!! Am I the only one? Sandy

Sometimes I freeze, but not to an extreme. Have you had your iron checked recently?

Hey Sandy..I agree with Cathryn...your iron could be low. I have always been cold natured but I have not been any more so since I had to surgery. Let us know if you find that your iron was low.

I have a heater next to my desk. I was never that way before surgery and now I am so cold all the time. Before I was like a furnace. I don't understand it but it is on my list of questions for the doctor next month. I feel like I can't get warm.

SAME HERE! I'm in Texas, and it isn't cold here either, but since surgery I stay cold now. I was my husband's bed warmer before surgery, now he's mine, and he doesn't get much warmer than me, so we're like two cuddling ice cubes at night. All my blood levels tested fine so I think it's just a side effect of slimming down. How's that for self diagnosis?? An MD... I am NOT!!! But I can say that I prefer to sweat than to freeze, so I am NOT liking this one bit!

Lori, See I am right the opposite!! I hate to sweat but the freezing is just inconvient. I can put on my clothes but I just look funny running around in gloves and sweater in Alabama at the end of April!! I will make sure and get my iron checked, just in case. Sandy

AH HA, so it isn't just me??? Nice to know. I am driving my husband crazy by complaining it is too cold in the house. The other day it was 70 degrees here and he lowered the heat, as soon as he left for work, I raised it. I am hoping that when our weight levels off, we will get use to our new bodies and our body temps will even out.

I am freezing all of the time!!! Cold fingers, cold feet, cold legs, cold nose even!!! For cripes sake...I live in California!!! It doesn't get "really" cold very often in the Sacramento Valley, so why am I cold all of the time?? I almost can't wait for our 110 degree summer days to hit so I can warm up!!! Now, I need to go get back under my blanket... Hugs...Suz (shivering as she signs off)

Me and just about anyone related to me are walking space heaters. I was really cold after the surgery and it was wierd- but now it seems to be getting better. Although I really did enjoy having to bundle up like all of the skinny people!!! There was an explanation on the RNY board months ago about why we feel cold after- but i can't remember what it was...sorry!!! Holly
