Tell me about your vitamins/supplements?
What are you recommended to take as far as this goes? My guidelines are:
3 children's chewables a day
3 Calcium-Citrate cewables a day
1 B1 weekly
B12 shot monthly or sublingual B12 weekly
I HATE the vitamins and have been trying to do 2 multi's, broken in half, a day. Anyone using a multi that is not TOTALLY gross?
Thanks, Belle
Hi Belle!! How are you?
I take my b12 sublingual weekly
Two 600 mg calcium citrate a day, I use the citracal chewables right now and they are only 500 mg but the pills make me sick
Two regular multivitamins a day, right now I use one a day, but will be moving to centrum soon, my multi's gross me out right now too...so I have been slacking on my intake....So I am going to have to do much better!!
I also take a biotin pill once a day, but that is a choice not recommended by my surgeon
I don't take iron right now but I am going to start next week, just to be on the safe side..my iron count has always been low so I know it will be worse now if I dont take proactive steps to correct it.
Belle,
I take:
2 Centrum chewables (they are the only ones I can stand)
2 Calcium Citrates
1 B12 sublingual
as directed by my surgeon per day.
I also take 1000 mcg of biotin a day in an effort to skirt the hair loss issue.
I have not had any labs yet. I go for my first post op lab visit on 4/19/07 and will be interested to see how my iron level is. Like Stephanie I have always had low iron but Dr. Pennington did not say for me to take iron so we will see.
Sandy
I take the following:
Daily~
2 Centrum Chewables multivitamin
2 Ctiracal Plus w/Magnesium and Vit D
1 Twin Lab Iron Caps, chelated, 18 mg
2 Fiber Con tabs (not a vitamin, but oh sooo needed!! he-he)
2 Actigall (again, not a vitamin, but have to take it per surgeon)
Twice per week~
Origin (Target brand) B-Complex sublingual drops
I wouldn't say that I "like" my multi, but as far as multivitamins go...the Centrum Chewables aren't bad. They taste like orange flavored kid's chewables.
Geez...sometimes just taking my vitamins along with my protein shot feels like a meal in itself!! I don't get my first labs done until April 16, but hopefully all of this is doing what it is supposed to do.
Hugs...Suz
Hey Suz..where do you get the actigill..I was not told to take but heard it can help ward of problems with the gallbladder...so I am sure it can't hurt to take!! And it looks like we are all pretty much doing the same things for our vitamins..at least the first three posters! Good to see some surgeons are calibrated on what the tell patients!!
