Hi there Everyone! I have never been on this board, but am so glad to find it! It is just what I am looking for I bet. I am 10 weeks post-op today from an RNY, and I don't live anywhere near any support group meeting places. A little about me... I am 33, married, 4 kids (ages 6, 3, 13 months, and 13 months), and a teacher (I job-share so I work 1/2 time). I live in Indiana. I have had a weight problem for about a decade. My high was 327, but I was 299 on the day of my surgery. At 10 weeks post-op, I am down 47 pounds. It is such a novel thing for me to have a BMI in the 30's! YEAH! I still really need to work on slowing down when I eat and not exceeding 1/2 cup portion size. Otherwise, life is great and I am so happy I did this! Glad to be here! Belle

WELCOME Belle, It is great to meet you and to have you here on the Jan board. I am Crystal. I am married with 1 daughter who is 4, Lauren, and I am 35. We live in MA and I am currently off for 2 weeks before starting a brand new job that I am THRILLED about. I have had weight issues since I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism at the age of 25. My highest weight ever was 251, the day of surgery I was 244 and I am now 199!!! 49lbs lost. You and I are in the same boat. I too have to learn to slow down. I forget sometimes and end up with that lump feeling in your stomach. The whoe teach and old dog new tricks thing is really coming to light where I am concerned. Welcome again Crystal

Welcome Belle!!! I had surgery the day before you!!! I love this board because the RNY and main ones overwhelm me. I'm a multiple mom too!!! I have 5 kids ages 18,15 and 3,3 and 3. Prior to the triplets I was an assistant principal at an elementary school. I'm happy i did this too!!! Holly 241/182/?

HI Belle. Im Mary. I had my surgery Jan 11 at 367 lbs. Im at 298 as of today so thats a loss of 69 lbs. I have 2 kids. Kristofer who is almost 18 and Dreama, who will be 6 in April. I have to work on the fast eating too. Its like Im half way through before I think about it. And I can eat more than a half cup too. I try to keep it at that but sometimes its really hard. I always wonder if I can eat more than other people at my stage. Well. welcome to the board and good luck to you!! Mary

Thanks for the welcome ladies! Sounds like everyone is doing great with the adjustment and the WL! It is nice to know there are a lot of other mom's on here, too! Holly- My 13 month olds (frat g/g) are actually surviving triplets. (I lost their brother in the second trimester.) They are such a blessing! Never boring, as I am sure you can relate with preschool multiples! My 3 year old son is such a wildman, he is usually much harder to deal with than my 3 girls all put together! I am sure I will change my tune when the babies are 3, though! Belle
