Birthdays and food

I spent much planning on how to "celebrate" my birthday and still stay true to my post op plan. After posting the question on this site some said they had tried 2 Chinese steamed dumplings (just the meat) and 1/2 cup egg flower soup. It was great and no problems. The next day I tried two dumplings with the wrap and no problem. Greater still! I didn't try blowing out a candle--but I did try 1/4 graham cracker, s.f., f.f cool whip and s.f.,f.f. chocolate syrup--just a little. No problem! I know we're all different--but just wanted to share in case others are thinking what they might eat on their birthday's. I'm 7 weeks out. Birthday wishes to you all, Faith

Happy belated Birthday Faith!!! I am so glad you were able to celebrate. If there is one thing that this whole journey has tought me is you don't have to deny yourself you just have to find new healthier ways to get what you want. I have found some sf candy that I have no problem eating just one every so often and I really don't think about them much. Another thing to try for you guys and gals that like or love cheese cake. Get the fatfree cream cheese, this also has protein. A couple of teaspoons of this. About a teaspoon of the sf/ff cool whip and to taste your choice of equal, splenda or whatever the sugar substitute that you prefer. I tell you it is just like real cheese cake. The amount is plenty to satisfy as well. I usually end up eating just half of it and saving the rest for another time. I find it does taste better after it has sit for a bit. Enjoy!!! Anna
