Big Apple - Here I come!
My company just announced that my team at work just won one of the most prestigous awards in the company. So we are being honored with a trip to the Rainbow Room @ Rockefeller Center in NY City.
Ok, so I have been to NY over a dozen times. But the only time I was smaller (about 145 then) than I am now was when my husband and I went just after we were married in 1999. So I am really excited to have lots of energy to move around, fit comfortably on the plane and hopefully look decent in a nice outfit.
I was originally going to New Jersey next week and Chicago in April for a work related events. Now I rescheduled my NJ trip to coincide with my NY trip, so I only have to travel once.
My dilemma.....I am nervous about the whole food/drink portion of the celebration...any thoughts/comments to get me through?
Also, my boss is in Texas taking me and my local staff out to lunch...I haven't been to lunch with any of them yet, so I hope I can pull it off without anyone noticing that I am hardly eating. Especially since not much stays down these days. I am thinking that I will just stick with a soup.
Any suggestions? We are going to Texas Land & Cattle in Dallas.
Thanks,
Lindy
Congrats on your accomplishment and the trip. Yahoo.
I agree that it is safe to stay with soup. Maybe even a salad with grilled chicken on it. Then just feast ont he chicken. That is what I try to do when I go out to lunch.
As for the event. If it is a sit down dinner just eat very slowly and only what you can. Make sure the pieces are really small. If you have kept your surgery under wraps and don't want to tell people why you are eating so little, just say something like "You are limiting your portions for weight loss" or "you are not feeling 100% and want to limit your food so that you can enjoy the evening".
I hope you have a GREAT time. Let us know how it was when you get back.
