Hi - Just recently I was feeling the same way about eating too much. So I relooked at my paper work from the Dr. it said for me - at 5 weeks and beyond I should be eating 3/4cup or 5 0z. meals 3 times a day. I should also fit in 3 snack a day that are up to 1 cup ( such as yogurt). Well I have to tell ya - I'm 7 weeks out and 3/4 cup of food is still alot of food for me, so I guess I wasn't going over the amount. i can also eat 8 oz of yogurt at a time - but that is ok.
There are days when I'm starving and others that food just doesn't interest me.
I guess I still just have to get used to eating such little amounts......
Everyone seems to be real well...... lets keep up the good work

Stephanie, you are definitely not alone. I too feel like I can eat more food then I should. But for the most part I can eat 4oz. I did test the limit today and ate one of the worst things for us.....are you ready for this....small french fries....I know, I know. You know what I ate them and not even all of them maybe half and they didn't even taste as good as I remember...so yeah I can do without them. Also I did get sick when I got back to work. My chest hurt really bad and the feeling I was going to throw up came over me and I got really warm. Several people wanted to talk to me on the way to the bathroom and I just had to tell them I had something stuck. Went into the bathroom and threw up. I felt a little better but the feeling lasted about 2 hours. Yuk won't be doing that again. I am sticking to what we are supposed to be eating. On top of that...well because of that I missed getting all my protein and one of my supplements in and most likely I won't get enough water in either. Live and learn.
I had to drink 4 oz's in the hospital before they would let me go home. That is what I have been eating all along. Had my 1 month post op and they said I am doing everything right. I asked how much food I should be able to eat at say 1 yr post op and was told a cup. But was also told not to pu**** I am just going to try to stick to 1/2 cup for now. For the most part I measure stuff out. I am so afraid of stretching my pouch. Also wow you nut said 15g of sugar, I was told 7g but I always try to stay below 3g. I am afraid of dumping and don't even want to go there and not dump.
Big (((hugs))) coming your way!!!

I feel you Anna...what about I have been craving french fries the last two days??? I am glad you told me about your experience so I will not be so tempted to try them. I actually read my book last night and it said I can have 17 grams of sugar!! And it said that I should try not to eat more than 6-8 oz at a time. I was like whoa! So, they are allowing me a lot more sugar than I thought I could handle..but with that being said..I am still staying away from sugar if at all possible. I want to maximize this "honeymoon" period as much as I can. I want to lose as much as possible, and that means min sugar and carbs for me!!
Side note...it is soooooooooo beautiful in Chattanooga TN Today!! I am leaving work early to go enjoy the day. Talk to you guys later.
