Hi everybody, I am scheduled to go back to work next Monday but I really feel so tired I don't know if I can do it. I had my surgery 1/22. Right after surgery I wa**** with C-Diff and 10 days of Flagyl, where I had constipation and felt tired all the time. I found out we were moving to York which no offense to you Central PAers but I am a life long Pittsburger and at 53 I am having a hard time dealing with leaving. I won't leave till we sell the house but I am depressed over my husband losing his job here and having to move and really leave my life here. I know this hasn't helped my recovery. Next all this constipation and irritable bowel problems. I also get panic attacks and they have been under control for a long time but they feel like I am on the verge of getting them again. I try to walk around the house and have been trying to do more exercises but I feel really tired. One good day, 2 exhausted days. Everyone sounds so peppy on these boards to me. Am I the only one? I have been in constant touch with my wonderful doctor and he feels the C Diff slowed the recovery pace for me. I am going to see if I can get an extra week of disability to try and work up to a full day. My only option is a full day or disability. At 5 weeks out how are you or how were the rest of you. Any questions besides constipation issues and general tiredness issues that you think I should be talking to my doctor about. Thanks for your help. Jan

I am almost 4 weeks out and I am not really tired. You might have him check your iron. When your iron is low, you feel really tired. Maybe your PCP can run a simple finger***** to rule that out. Hope you feel better!

Hey sweety! I think what you are feeling is totally normal. You have had so much happening in the past month. Your surgery, the cdiff and now you have to move? I think you have so much going on right now. I would try for disability if you can get it. See if your doctor can write something up for you. As far as being tired. I hear you on that one. I was hoping by losing 26 lbs I would have tons more energy. Well, it's not happening yet. I have zero energy and usually when I wake up in the morning I am thinking of when I can go back to bed! There would be no way I could work full days right now. I have little kids and they keep me super busy! Listen to your body and rest when you can!

Hello Jan, At my support group last night, this "tiredness" was discusses. It seems like some have none at all and others like you and me are tired. Try to take as much time from work as they will allow. We can all just do our best. I wish you all the best on your continued journey! Vaith

I felt really tired for a while after surgery (meds hangover I think) and then I felt good for a while and once I started nearing my 6 weeks, I started getting tired again... I think it was either lack of iron or maybe b12... my best friend who had the surgery about 8 months before me said she can tell when it's close to time for her b12 because she feels more tired... maybe thats it?
