I was wondering if it was just me, so I thought I would put this question out there. WHAT ARE SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU LIKED BEFORE SURGERY THAT YOU CAN'T STAND NOW? (THINGS WE ARE NOT ALLOWED DON'T COUNT ) For me, Eggs, bread, and cheese. I just can't stand the taste of them and I LOVED all these things before surgery. What about you?? Hi Crystal, At just 3 weeks out, I haven't had too many chances to taste to many things yet. However, I do notice that I taste things more intensely than before and I seem to want plain water most of the time rather than Crystle Lite. Is there anything that you didn't like before that you do now? Joy for the journey, Faith

Very good question, Faith. Yes, the only thing I can think of that I tried and actually liked, is TUNA FISH. I Hated Tuna before the surgery, but when I saw how much protien was in it I thought I should choke it down. Sure enough, it was good. The craving for it is over now though. I still would rather Chicken Salad over Tuna any day. Crystal

I've noticed that my sense of taste has changed as well. I loved - lived for my coffee in the morning. Now it is with great distress that i can not even stomach the taste of it. It actually makes me nausueas....and yes it was decaf since i'm not supposed to have reg. coffee.I keep trying it every once in awhile to see it my taste has changed back. I have also noticed my sense of smell is quite heightened...... my husband and one of my daughters loves hot sauce - tabasco/jalapeno ect.... but man do they stink after they have it..... to me only of course.... they don't smell it on them also if anyone has garlic i can really smell that.... it's very odd. I can't eat anything sweet and creamy now. SlimFast low carb shakes were the main protein staple in my diet, but I can't even think about drinking those now.

Anything that is remotely sweet is YUCKY now. It seems like my perception of sweet was turned up to 100037467847 times what it was before surgery. Honestly, I am not really finding anything yet that I enjoy. Lori 242/219/135 before/ current/goal (Cathryn...lovin the new avatar...I changed mine too)

Sweet things are terrible for me now. At least sweet drinks I must dilute with 50% water like diet snapple for example. Also, yogurt...in the hospital it was like eating a spoonfull of syrup...YUCK. I asked the staff not to bring me yogurt any more. Also something very interesting is that I H.A.T.E.D. Protein drinks PRE-Surgery but now it like having a chocolate milkshake to me......interesting topic for sure! Darla

Hey Crystal, I pretty much like most of the stuff I liked before at least what I am able to eat any way. I have to have cheese in my eggs though and I only eat eggbeaters. I used to like the protein drinks and now I have to make myslef choke one down. I no longer like coffee of any kind and really don't like to eat in the morning just the thought of it makes me kind of sick. I did try some chinese the other night and I can still eat that so woooohooooo. I am very thankful that I can eat cheese as I love it. I have the same problem with sweets that everyone else is having. I have to water down the crystal light. I mostly prefer just plain water as well. I seem to be thirsty a lot so that is okay. Anna
