Well, I have to add something new. My husband's favorite meal is Chicken Enchilada Soup from Homemade Gourmet. It's low carb, high protein, unless you add the Tortilla chips and cheese, but I don't know what this adds to it yet..need to calculate. (It is mostly chicken and tomatoes, I use one can of rotel and one regular to spice up the recipe) Anyway, last night I came home from work and whipped it up from chicken that I had baked on Sunday. I put just a few crushed chips and little bit of cheese and mostly the liquid, but some chicken and tomatoes in a small bowl (total was about 1/4 cup). It completely melted the chips where they were soggy and I felt like I was eating a chicken enchilada....oh it was SO good!!! This was one of my favorites before surgery too, because it is so healthy (minus too many chips, a little is okay, but now that I have control, I don't need many to satisfy me). My husband likes to just take the thicker meat and tomatoes and put them in a tortilla the next few days for left overs. Great for me, because he is eating what he likes and I am not tempted or feeling guilty for not cooking for him....and it keeps him away from fast food before he comes home. I just had to share! Mine was Jan. 31st. I'm eating a small variety and have been sick, (not vomiting Thank God, but dizzy and tummy hurt) -lot's of soups (Select, Progresso, Campbells (dont' eat potatoes in the soups) -fish, tapilia, salmon, tuna -boiled egg (once didn't feel too good) -sauted veggies in olive oil - zucchini, spinach -1/2 sandwhich today at a work meeting -baked doritos and cheetos -protein bars -protein drinks (the drinks are making me gag layed off of them for a little while) -baby back ribs (3 was okay, I baked them till very tender, 2nd time I ate 4 and was super sick feeling for 3 hours) -had about 4 drinks when I went out dancing for a fund raiser and I had about 1/8 cup salmon at the dinner and didn't get a buzz (bummer), but danced a lot at less than 3 weeks out. -drink lots of tea, water, watered down juice, Crystal Light -yogurt which I dont' care for. What's the best one for RNY? -mini V-8 juice (the bomb, love em! But be careful cuz of it going throuhg and the runs) -sugar free jello -sugar free pops -no sugar added apple sauce Dont' be scared, just try something a little bit at time. I'm not sure I'm a good source since I had booze and ribs only a little bit over 3 weeks but man I love meat. So when you try something, eat a little bit and wait for like 15 mintures and see how you feel. Congrats and good luck!
