What R U EATING?
Hi there!
I am eating mashed potatoes, refried beans, cheese, 2-3 crackers, well done toast (read somehwere that it goes down better), mac & cheese, water, protein drinks, soups, sf jello, sf pudding, sf popsicles, egg beaters egg, really soft carrots cooked with a fine grade of honey, sugar free shortbread cookies (only tolerating 2 at a time). I tolerated a little bit of chicken, but I chewed it like bubble gum before swallowing.
I tried a hard boiled egg today, huge huge mistake. I was in pain from 1PM until about 5:30PM, only relieved by coming back up. I tried to eat regular charro beans last Friday, not as much pain, but pain with foamies.
I am interested in hearing what others are eating this far out.

I am eating, chili, tacos (soft shell just tried today and settled well- whle wheat) turkey lunchmeat, pureed foods still, protein drink daily, cheese, curry chicken without rice.....those are the things I have tried..although didn't always tollerate well the first time through but now seem to be fine.
Chili made with Tofu....yummy and I got it from a fellow RNY friend:
It is tasty and full of protein and so simple to make. Everything is already cooked so I throw it in a crockpot for a couple of hours to blend in the flavors.
1 pkg. of ground tofu (I believe the brand is St. Ives....Freddy Meyer, organic section or Trader Joes)
2 cans of Kidney beans
2 cans of dices tomatoes
1/4 cup of onion (I use dehydrated for convenience)
1 or 2 tablespoons of chili powder
1 or 2 tablespoons of cumin (ground or seeded)
1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
Voila! Thats it! Use enough chili powder, cumin and pepper to your taste. The above is approx. how much I use.
This makes about 8 cups @ 169 cal. per cup and 15 g. protein (I think). It also freezes very well!
- Chili of all varieties
- Ham-n-cheese lunch meat
- Tyson chicken (breading scraped off)- hard to chew
- Pizza sauce with mozzarella cheese and turkey pepperoni diced
- Scrambled eggs with cheese
- Soups of all kinds
- Hot dog (cut up)- did not like
- Tilapia with tartar sauce- not tolerated well (maybe it was the sauce?)
- SF jello, popsicles, pudding
- SF 50/50 brand peanut butter & jelly (only eating a spoonful or 2 at a time)
- SF cool whip (only a spoonful to curb a sweet craving)
- Deviled eggs
- Really crispy bacon (has to be crispy, or I cannot chew it enough)
- Chicken quesadilla minus the tortilla, add sour cream
That's about all I can think of.
I have tried alot of things .. I too was very scared to try new things but I DO NOT want to feel like I am on a diet forever. I am also scared I will overeat but I can usually get about 1/4 of a cup of food down with no problems.

I was really scared at first also but then I noticed what others were having and I started trying more. I've done fine with everything (kind of scary) but even after reading others menus I want to give more things a chance.
I really want a salad!!! I'm just really scared of the fresh veggies getting stuck. I also want some chili, that sounds yummy!!
