I sure am losing slowly.....
I go back to the Dr for my 6 week check up on Friday. I was 299 at my consult, 288 the day of surgery, 276 at my 2 week appt, and I weighed 266 this morning. So, 22 lbs in 6 weeks.. it doesnt seem like very much compared to everyone else. I know I shouldnt compare, but I cant help it. My Dr wanted me to be 262 at my next appt, and I dont think it will happen.....
Hi Jennifer,
You are not alone. I am 25 days post op and have only lost a total of 17.5 lbs. I was 220 pre-surgery and 5 o fthe 17.5 pounds I lost the week before my surgery. I exercise, drink all my water, and found out today that I am not eating enough calories so my body must be in starvation mode. I was getting about 700 calories a day and I guess it wasn't enough. Today, I was closer to 1,000 calories so we will see if that changes things.

I feel like my weightloss is slow as well. I am 4 weeks out today and have lost 20 lbs. I admit that I was hoping for more, but will take the 20. I am eating right, getting in my protein and water and exercising. I guess I am just a slow loser. I didn't know that not getting enough calories could slow my progress though. I'm getting in between 600-700. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Just make sure you are working-out and getting your protein and water in and you will do fine. 22 lbs is AWESOME!!!
Hi Janie,
I'm not sure that we really need 1,000 calories at all. I have talked with more people that are telling me that 700 is about right (succesful weight loss folks) so please don't take my word for it. Perhaps you should talk with your dietician. Stalls are frustraiting and people are just trying to help me but I think I just have to wait it out and know this too shall pass.

Hi Guys:
Sounds like you are all on track!! Jennifer, you are only four pounds away from your doctors goal for you and that is great. And you never know what you body will let go between now and Friday. Just keep following your doctors orders and all will be well. Also, another thing to remember is the fact that the less you weigh in the beginning, the slower it may come off. So be patient and don't lose heart! Slow and steady wins the race...and if it comes of slowly...less loose skin later!! Just some "food" for thought!
Ladies, ladies ladies.....
LOOK HOW FAR YOU'VE COME!! Jennifer- 22 pounds in 6 weeks is GREAT! Could or would you have done that before surgery? Probably not!
We all (myself included) need to stop beating ourselves up because we aren't losing as fast as we think that we should! We did not get fat overnight and we will not be thin overnight.
Just do what you know you're suppose to be doing and it will happen! Claim your healthy and fit life and it will be yours!! Be thankful for what you have lost thus far and continue on your journey. I know it's hard...believe I know but again, IT WILL HAPPEN!!
Congrats to each of you for your weight loss! You are all doing beautfully and I know that I know you all will be successful!!
