Sugar Alcohols....what I learned between eating them then researching them
People who have undergone gastric bypass surgery, specifically Roux-en-Y (RGB), should be careful not to eat too much sugar alcohols as doing so can lead to "dumping" and intense internal body odor.

(this will be TMI I'm sure but I woke up in the night very, very gassey just like I was a few days after surgery. I just bet this was leading up to my throwing up this morning. Now I know more about sugar alcohols and why we might want to avoid them)

You were very wise to look it up first. I know it's a blessing in disguise that we may not be able to tollerate sugar alcohols so I am saying "lesson learned" I'll tell you, I never want to feel that way again in my lifetime. I had cold sweats and the need to walk out in the night in the very cool air just to try to help settle down the Nausea. It wasn't until I had a very intense episode of vomiting (mostly dry heaves) that I started to feel better. It lasted about an hour....YUCKY!
Darla,
Sorry to hear you experienced this. Glad you informed me. I am now wandering if I have been eating this stuff without knowing and getting lucky. I have had some bloating, flatulence...hmm and even a really bad odor in my mouth, which I chalked up to the ketones, because of the low carb diet.
I will be checking out what I am eating now for sure.
Glad you are feeling better now!
