I am two weeks post-op today..... and 18 pounds down... yay.... well.. my situation that im dealing with is that i have such a sensitive pouch. It is really getting to me that i have such an issue with eating. Its not the fact that i cannot eat the food but that i feel like crap afterwards! I know the only way to know if i can tolerate a food is trying it but im getting to the point that im getting afraid to try new things because i dont want to feel ill. My hubby had surgery the same day as i did... he is doing great and has no problems with any food and YES... im jealous...... not cause he can eat but because he doesnt get sick. Has anyone dealt with this? Do you have any advice for me to get through this? It is so frustrating. Thanks.... Christine

Hi - I don't have an overly sensitive pouch - but I do have to make sure that my food or drinks are room temp. I can't have anything very cold, if it is too cold things tend to get stuck and then I have to throw up. I've learned fast though and I have only gotten sick 3 times. I was told that this will go away in time....and that even at 5 weeks out I'm still healing inside. Hopefully soon you will start to feel better! Don't compare yourself to your hubby - although I'm sure it is really frustrating - it just might take you a little longer to heal... Keep up the good work. Marta

Christine, There is something positive to come out of this. You may have more sensitivities so when you have been at this awhile, you may not be too egar to try things you should not have. I know that sounds lame but I am speaking from what other experienced bypass patients have shared with me. In the long run, it has been a great benefit to them. Darla
