I have C-diff
I just got a call from my doctor's office that I have C-diff. I don't seem to have the typical symptoms but it is C-diff. Has anyone else been diagnosed with this. How bad was it? I hear that Flagyl is hard on the stomach. Anyone take that and what was it like after gastric bypass? I am trying to be calm but not suceeding. My surgery was 1/22. Thanks for your help.

Hmm I don't know Jan. Is it your PCP that called you or your surgeon? If it is your surgeon that did the gastric bypass I would go ahead and talk to him about the treatment he has subscribed. If he feels confident that you will be fine taking that then I would do what they say. Just my 2 cents. Hope this helps. If it is your pcp I would still call your surgeon and let them know what treatment the pcp is subscribing and see if they have a problem with that.

A bad bacteria in the digestive track that can cause severe watery bm. A person can have something like 18 of them a day. In sick and elderly people it can cause death. In happens after surgeries and also after use of antiboditics.
I was having the Big D but not like 18 times a day and when things seemed to normalize that is when I was diagnosed. I am on Flagyl 3x a day for 10 days. Flagyl is hard on the stomach on its own. Hope that helps. I would like to have more info from people who have had it after gastric bypass.
Thanks
Jan
