Any Advise will be appreciated
I had lap band out of the country on 1-23-07, I think I am doing ok, have lost 23 lbs so far, only thrown up once, the big incision I am having some difficulty with (am going to see Dr. friend tomorrow so she can look at site, still tender and sore on that one side.)
I have been a little concerned because after the initial 23 lbs the scale has not moved, I have shaken the scale, examined it, and considered purchasing a new one ;-) but I
just keep doing what I was told and following the diet.
Hello,
I had my RNY surgery on 1/24/07 and what you are explaining is VERY COMMON and happens to a great deal of us. I just came off of a full week standstill and have not "cheated" on the program at all. It seems in that third week when we are transitioning to lifetime eating so-to-speak that our bodies are trying to hang on, with dear life, to the weight. It does change. After a 7 day standstill, today I stepped on the scales and 1.5 lbs more GONE. One thing to remember is that when the scales are not moving, as you are saying here, that is usually when our inches are catching up with the rapid weight loss we are experiencing. If it's any consolation, I had my surgery only 1 day after you and total weight loss so far is 16.5 lbs. I'm happy with that and know that the scales will show the loss, I just have to trust the surgery will take care of it as long as I am doing my part to follow the guidelines. Another thing I have decided to do is to only weigh myself every Saturday morning so I don't get discouraged when the scales are not moving and I know I'm consuming such a small volume of food.
I hope this helps you somehow.

You're doing great as far as weight loss goes! I have lost 21# since surgery (30# since pre-op and 37.5# from my highest) so you're way ahead of me. The scale is finally starting to move again.
I think for us lap band pts that we get to a point where we're not getting enough calories and as we are able to eat more, our body holds on to what we give it. It'll happen! I have lost inches (don't know how many but I've gone from a 26W to a 22W (comfortably) pair of jeans). It's frustrating though!!! Keep it in perspective. It's only been 2.5 weeks since your surgery. Your body is still healing.
Hang in there, keep doing what you're doing! It will happen! Until we get our fills the right way, any extra weight loss is a bonus!
