Hey everyone - just wanted to introduce myself. I had a LAP RNY on Jan 22. I am having no problem keeping things down and for that I'm grateful. I lost 12 lbs in the first week and a half and now the scale won't budge. It's so dissapointing, it hasn't moved since Thursday. Just wondering how much weight you lost at 2 weeks? Thanks!

Hi Janie, Glad you found this site, it's a great site for help. I can't really say what is normal for 2 wekks, everyone is so different. Keep up the great work, I am sure you will start seeing losses again soon. Congratulations on your decision to have this surgery.

Hey there, My name is Christine. I had surgery on 1/31/07. At this current time i am down 14 pounds. DO NOT and i repeat DO NOT worry about the scale. As i am told from my doc and rn your body will change between dropping pounds and losing inches. I was told to keep a tape measure and take measurements periodically. Congrats on your weight loss and you will continue losing. Keep drinking water and get in your protein! Thats what im told to do and you will keep losing.... take care.... good luck... Christine

Thanks so much for your replies. I am hoping I haven't reached at stall at only 2 weeks and 12 lbs, but we'll see. It helps so much talking to others that have had the surgery to close to mine. This board is great. Thanks!

Hiya Janie, don't worry hon you are right on track. I had mine on the 24 and I am at 13lbs lost as of this morning. I lose every 2-3 days a couple of pounds each time. Here is what I do to kickstart it if I stall which I have already: get extra protein in if you can. Walk more! Drink extra water as well and make sure you eat stuff that is not high in sodium. Hope this helps hon. You are doing awesome. Welcome to the January board and congrats on your surgery!!! love, Anna

Hi Janie! I had the surgery the same day as you. I've lost 11 lbs. since surgery, and 13 lbs. in the 12 days pre-op. So you and I are on the same page. I think it also depends on how much you need to lose (the more, the quicker), at least at first. We both just need to hang in there--I don't think there's anything else we can do at this point except eat protein and drink water (and exercise)! Good luck--I'll look forward to hearing how you're doing. Jen

Jennifer - that's awesome on your weight loss. How were you able to lose 13 lbs pre-op? That's amazing!!!!! I bet you feel great losing those 25 lbs, just think, gone forever!! I know I need to exercise more, hopefully that will kickstart the weight loss.

Janie, Hi we have the same date! I have lost 30 lbs as of yesterday but I have had a lot of problems with the BIG D. I am tired alot of the time. Don't be disappointed about your weight we are all going to get it off just at a different pace. I think in my case the secret to my "success" had been the Big D - not too much was staying in me. A little bit slower weight loss and a less sore bottom would balance out. This am I sent the horrible stuff in for a C-diff test. No one really thinks I have it - Doc just wants to make sure so say a prayer for me. Take care, Jan
