Staples are out

Yesterday was my 1st post-op visit, my staples are out and I feel so much better. Free to move and the itching has stopped. I go back in 2 weeks to check the incision. Doc say my stomach is still swollen so I have resistance which will fade, then when I go back in 4 weeks I will get my first fill if needed. So far 10 pounds down and the water is going in. Joy

Joy that is good news. Did they do it lap or open. Just curious as I had lap and did not get staples. Down 10 pounds Woooooooooot!!! Congrats hon that is so awesome to hear. You are well on your way!!! Anna

Yesterday i went in to see my doc because I was having trouble getting anything down without feeling like I would throw up. ... Even the thought of food made me gag. He did a cat scan and some bloodwork and says everything looks fine, its probably just that my new stomach is swollen. Is that what you mean by resistance? Because I'm still having some trouble with it today and I hope it will pass. And Anna, mine was lap, but I have staples.

Exactly, from what my doc says once the swelling goes down I'll be able to eat more by that time it will be time for a fill. You might want to try hot tea, it helps calm my stomach down it might help. Joy

Hi Joy, That is great for you!! 10 pounds.....that is AMAZING!!! I go in tomorrow for my first Post Op and get my staples out too: can't wait. I had Lap and they always do staples on their patients where I go. I have 9 staples and took off my acrilic finger nails because I was afraid I would "rake" one out in my sleep. Now the fun begins when you can move around more. I'm sure looking forward to it to really get full use of my new tool. Darla
