The hospital was great, surgery was at 8 am last Friday and I was discharged Saturday about noon. Pain is not bad, nausea was the first 3 days, came in waves. The gas from the surgery settles in the upper left shoulder, so the heating pad is coming in handy. Clear liquids are over so I'm on to soft proteins now. Drinking 64 ounces of water is very important and somewhat of a challenge. Walking hasn't been to difficult, I just had my mind made up that I needed to move around as much as possible. I'm pretty tired most of the time so I'm glad I'm able to take off as much time as I need. My husband is retired and had the same surgery in November so he's a huge help to me. He brought home beautiful roses yesterday for me, I gotta keep this man! I was very relaxed going into surgery, well hydrated, and feeling very positive. I was surprised at how good I felt when they brought me to my room. The surgeon and hospital have a Center of Excellence rating, and I can't imagine what more they could have done for me. If I wanted pain medication, they were right there, they even had someone from resperatory come around that evening to help me put my CPAP on. I've only had it a few days and it's a little awkward for me, I'm getting it though! So I'm glad it's behind me now and on to a new life that will be much healthier than I've been. I'm looking forward to seeing my new little grandson grow up, he's such a cute little guy, only 8 months old....he was my motivation for a healthier life. That's all for now, hope everyone is doing well, I'll check in later.....

I didn't feel so hot a couple of days out either. My stomach doesn't hurt but the incisions do. I'm just now able to cough up some of the flem that's building up. Use a pillow on your stomach it will make it easier. Someone told me to get one of those travel pillows and keep it with me, especially while in the car. There's no two ways about it, the water is a challenge, I try to keep sipping, but when I rest of course you can't, so I loose some time to drink. Don't feel bad resting a lot, we're healing, and another week this will seem like nothing. You take care also and keep posting.....

Carol, One thing you can do about the water is to put some Crystal light in it. They have packages that are made for a 16-20 oz bottle of water so all you do is dump it in. My favorite is Sunshine orange; it actually tastes like orange juice, but without the twang or indigestion I always had with oj. Anyway, there is a walmart brand that's good, grape too. It's cheaper too. Apple is at walmart too. Good luck. That's how I get all my water down. Lapband surgery 1/3/07 lost 20 pounds so far. Good luck again. You can do it. Skinny ladyinside07
