Any advice for me? My surgery is tomorrow morning...
Congratulations to all of you Jan 31 babies!
My recommendation to you is to try to keep a good attitude no matter what happens! You make a difference to all those around you.
Laughter encourages everyone to be at their very best.
Make the most of this opportunity, and you will not regret it.
Many prayers going out for you all, your surgeons, and the professionals around you.
God bless!

I pretty much have the same advice. Although I will add something. My docs orders were for them to give me an extra morphine shot if needed and I had to fight for it. I say you know what it is only likely to be for the one night so give me the dang medicine.....lol. That was the only time I didn't care for the nurse watching over me. The rest were helpful and real angels. I pray you will not have to go through that. I feel mine was due to the inflamed gallbladder and the hernia they repaired. I mean otherwise why would my doc put the order in there. Plus I do have Fibromyalsia so my pain is heightened. I am doing just fine now and pain is at a minimum. Also don't take to much you most likely won't use it. I would take underwear and lipgloss and toothbrush and toothpaste. That is all I used...lol.
I will be keeping all you Jan 31 folks in my thoughts and prayers.
Godbless and Godspeed!!!

Stephanie,
I had my surgery last week and just like you I was seeking advise. The best thing I can say is make sure that you are extremely hydrated going into surgery tomorrow. This was beneficial to me for the "needle pokes" and they did not have to put as many fluids in me so I was able to get my IV capped quickly which makes walking much easier. The second thing I strong encourage is the walking. I am not going to lie the day of surgery is very difficult to get out of bed and walk. I just had to tell myself that this is a new life and I need to take a step forward to get it started. I did not walk far but I did walk. Each time you go for a walk it gets easier and easier. Just stay strong and use the information that you have been given and you will get through it with no problems.
Best wishes tomorrow.
