Ever since I was denied reconstructive surgery, I have fallen into a depression. I have tried to stay optimistic but just as I was going to try to appeal their decission my physician of many years burned down along with all my medical records. And to make it all worse. I no longer have the same insurance. (Is that a good thing? will my chances increase with a new insurance company? Should I try with the new company and not mention the denial?) I worked so hard to lose the weight and actually hit my goal with a year and a half. I have so much extra skin that no amount of exercise will make it budge ( well yes it wiggles and flops around everywhere) , but it wont firm up. I cant bring myself to wear short sleeves or shorts, my shirt tucked in, or even a belt. Hense the depression. Does anyone out there have any suggestions.

Hiyas Jeanie, I am so sorry you are having to go through this. First I have to say you may get better response on the plastics board or the main board. We are all new post-ops here. As far as applying to your new insurance I would go for it. Never give up your dreams I always say. Sorry not much more help then that. I wish you luch in finding your answers!!! (((hugs))) Anna

We are so new here, Jeanie; but we also understand how frustrating it is for insurance to deny you. My insurance denied me and I borrowed the money to get the lap band done. Anyway, from lookng at your picture, I see a lovely young woman with a beautiful smiling face. (((((Jeanie))))) I know you're down now, but there are a lot of ways to get things done. Don't give up on yourself. Things will get better. Think of how far you've already come. Just hold on and start planning how you're going to overcome this hurdle. The Dr.s office may have backed up everything on computer so your records may not have burned. Look into that. Then start all over, and make sure you need surgery because the loose skin is causing you physical problems, like irritation, etc. And, last but not least, look into these websites that allow you to borrow money for wls and reconstructive surgery. Don't give up. I know you'll get there. Sorry for your bad day. Skinnyladyinside07 Dianne
