Okay, so tomorrow is my big day, and I am dying to know what you all actually used while in the hospital. What should I make sure to pack ,and what can I leave at home? I am getting a little nervous. Just wanting the day to fly by! Michelle

I took WAY too much stuff. You will need good bedroom shoes for walking, a robe that covers you up for walking, chapstick and maybe a book or magazine if you wake up enough. I wore my own gown on the last day, and then wore my gown and robe home - just did not feel like getting dressed. If I was awake I was walking or trying to drink whatever they were putting before me. The rest of the time I think I slept. Good Luck! Kim

Hi - No need to pack alot - at least not in my hopsital. They gave me everything. I didn't even use slippers - they gave me non skid socks. I couldn't take a shower until the day I left - so no need to even bring shampoo and stuff ( although I did have trial size just in case). I would keep it to a real minimum. I did however have my hubby bring my own pillow w/ my flannel pillowcase - which was so much better than the hospitals. Oh yes - chapstick is a must..... Good luck w/ your surgery - it will be over b/4 you know it........ Marta

I totally agree with the two other posts. I did not need much. Just a Robe and chap stick, fresh panties to wear home and that was it. I wore the clothes home that I wore to the hospital. Make sure you have loose stretchy pants and a big shirt. Oh ya I took my slippers but did not use them the sipper socks worked better. Hope this helps. Praying for an uneventfull surgery for you and a quick recovery Alice

Don't forget pads or tampons. Everyone warned me that your period may start while still in the hospital--and mine did. Good luck on your surgery! Jen

The only things I used were my toothbrush/paste, my own pillow, and my sudoku book - which I only did when my surgery was delayed a couple of hours. That's it! I wore the clothes in that I wore home, waited to take a shower when I got home, etc. Margaret

Hiyas Michelle, I took way too much stuff as well. I used the gowns they provided and then I used the non skid socks they put on me. Since they didn't take my IV out until right before I left I was unable to change into my own gown. I didn't even use a robe...lol let em look...hehe like anyone cares. I know I didn't, I walked the first night, dozed off and on sipped at my ice chips and in the morning drank the required amount of food. They provided little ounce size cups. I knew I didn't have much space so did not waste it on the "desert" type thing they put on my plat I drank the chicken broth and ate whatever the thing that had the most protein. I walked a lot and did really good. You will too. Try to walk that first night you will feel so much better. The only thing I used of my own was the toothpaste and toothbrush and lipgloss. Oh and changes of underwear made me feel a lot better too. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for your big day!!! Anna
