I am taking 2 books, some tabloid magazines, my CPAP machine and toiletries. I am on edge too. I am going to clean my house today to keep my mind busy and so I don't have to do it when I come home. Good Luck

lap. I never really thought about chapstick. I better put that in my bag. My surgery is at 11:40 am so it is plenty of time to pack and check over stuff in the morning. What type are you having?
After just returning home from my Lap RNY surgery yesterday, I can honestly say that Chapstick is KEY, you will be so glad you took it. I took books but didn't read a single one although I did see one lady that had the surgery reading a lot. I had many visitors and when I didn't, I rested. It goes so fast and before you know it, you will be home recovering like I am today. Best of luck to you. Darla
Okemi,
I had surgery on 01/17/07. I was at Kennestone Hospital. I took gown, slippers, books, gameboy, magazines, soap, lotion, deordorant, and chapstick. The hospital provides you with a rubber bottom sock thing. Between them checking my vitals every other hour, checking my blood sugar, visitors and phone calls, the only thing I used was the chapstick and was very happy I had it. I had an Lap RNY and was in the hospital for 2 days. My surgeon was Dr. Dennis Smith. I wish you an uneventful surgery and recovery.
Okemi, just wanted to let you know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers for an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery. I packed a bag and it had slippers I used those for coming home in. Jammies that I never wore, a book I didn't even crack the cover on. toothbruch and toothpast I did use these but they will provide them as well. I took the medicines that they told me to take and ended up using just one. I used 2 changes of underwear and on the last day I could of showered but chose to do it at home. I hope this helps!!!
Godbless and Godspeed!!
Anna
I am scheduled to have my surgery at 8 a.m. this Monday, too. It is both exciting and frightening. Tomorrow I will be on clear liquids then nothing after midnight. I will be getting ready for surgery, too.
Okemi, you will be in my prayers. I know that the right people will be performing our surgeries.
