Hmmm I would tend to think that it might be your scales. That is a big jump for that time. My scales sometimes do that. Is it balanced at zero? Since you are doing all the basics. I would just write down everything you have eaten and see if you are not eating something that might be not so healthy. I still lean towards the scales being wrong. Hope this helps!! ((((hugs)))) Anna

Dee, I completely understand your frustration. I suggest you do a search of the boards and see what you can find on this subject try using keywords like "stall" or "plateau". I have read threads on the Texas board about this subject and I think you are at your first stall. From what I read (and I paid attention because it's around the same weight I am) you are considered "light weight" and the weight loss is sometimes a bit slower than for someone who is at a higher BMI. I have also read that your first stall happens around 3-5 weeks. They also frequently post threads about kickstarting the weight loss duirng a stall. Sometimes a slight change in diet will do it too....kinda tricks the body. Hope that helps! Lori

Sorry to be so female but are you due for your period soon? That may play a part but I definitely think your scale is off. Sounds like you are doing your regimen. Try not be discouraged...I know, easier said than done. Take care, Adrianne

I'd recommend ONLY gaging your weight loss by your doctor's scale. Had you lost when you last saw him? It's ok to weigh yourself on your home scales, but know that every time the scale is bumped or moved it can get out of balance, causing you to weigh more or less. If you have actually gained, I would request a thyroid screening. When my thyroid is out of whack (low) I can gain unreal amounts of weight eating nothing at all. It's worth getting checked out.
