I was also low risk except for my BMI. That is why I wanted the surgery so I didn't get any of the co-morbidities! I had surgery Jan. 3rd and have done great. I am a nurse and went back to work yesterday without any difficulty. Today was good too! I am down 20# since surgery and 35 from my highest. It has been an absoluetly great experience (all liquids are hard but even that isn't that big of a deal anymore). I came home the same day (most people stay overnight in my hospital), have not had any nausea since the car ride home and am just so glad that I did this! Good luck with your surgery! Tina

Hello, I had lap band surgery 1/18. I was considered low risk but my bmi was 47 and I have high blood pressure. My surgery went great per my surgeon no problems at all. I had a problem today though. I had to call my surgeon, because I was having a problem with drinking my fluids It felt like really bad heart burn. When I explained to him what I had taken in today he said it was my blood pressure med which is a pretty big pill so he told me to sip on hot tea to try and dissolve the pill he thinks it has irrtated my throat and still may be stuck. I hope this goes away otherwise I will need to go in for ugi test. I will invest in a pill crusher. As soon As I get up tomorrow I don't want to experience this again.Anyway enough about me. I will pray for you and hope for speedy recovery. If you have any more questions feel free to email me. Teona
