I will have my DS on 1/31/07

Hello , my name is Alla.I had vertical sleeve with dr Gagner in Cornell hospital on March 29,2006.My weight was 374lb, bmi 73. I have lost 122lb since March, my present weight is 252lb. I feel great! My dr told me that I need to do 2 part as to loose more( my heigt is only 5'0) I need to loose 80lb more at least. But I am so scared about DS part, I read all stories about smelly gas, loose bw. Can you please give you opinions, can I leave sleeve alone and loose more or I need to do DS? Thank you very much. Alla

You're not even a year post op and he is already suggesting a revison? That sounds close to me. I would think you should atleast give it a couple of years before a revision, but then again I am not a Doctor. How does your primary care physician feel about that?

Hi, Alla. As you know, this isn't a revision - it's just the completion of the surgery that is being done in 2 parts on you instead of one. For some reason, Dr. Gagner does his in 2 parts a lot. The "switch" part will help you to lose the rest of the weight and more importantly will help you to KEEP it off. That's where the DS outshines all of the other surgeries.
