for those on a liquid diet before the surgery...
Hi Gina -
I used the individual prepared jello cups( could not be bothered to make it - it always comes out too soupy for me) - I would have only 1-2 a day, but I did alot of the broth. it tasted like chicken soup minus the chunks and the noodles. The broth really helped me. I know the liquid diet really stinks -but it is so worth it. After surgery you don't miss food as much as you thought you would - since you haven't had it in awhile. The tiny amount of food you get after surgery feels like heaven and a thanksgiving feast.( at least for me it does)
Keep up the good work on the liquid diet - it is really worth it.
I didn't really know that jellow was okay. Glad to hear that. The SF Popsicles are great, but it's so cold right now and I don't do well in cold weather.
I started my liquid diet 4 days ago. I think since I have really been prepared mentally for this surgery, the diet has been going okay. I really haven't had any serious cravings. But, I have been keeping liquids around, tea, water, propel, etc.
The protein shakes are okay. I am not super crazy about them, but I think if I make them just right, they taste pretty good. I bought the Isopure Cookies and Cream and the Creamy Vanilla from GNC. It says to make with water, but I prefer lactaid free/fat free milk. I am just hoping after the surgery the cravings will be somewhat contained.
MY doctor's pre-op liquid diet says blended soups, so I have been blending up soups in a blender to a liquid form, heating them and eating them. I have also had Broccoli Cheese, Potato Soup from Home Made Gourmet, but left out the cheese. I have also found the Soup at Hand sippable Cambell's soups and the Cambell's Gold Select (which is in a box like Beef Broth), but the soups are in liquid form, all are pretty good.
Good luck everyone!
