Dr. Blackstone will be out all week! Now what??????
To say that I am slightly disappointed is to say it mildly. What bother's me the most is not knowing what's going on. I've emailed the scheduler and finally spoke to the doc''s office. Scheduling was not responding. All they could tell me in her office was that she would be out ALL WEEK! i had to leave a message for Sylvia who apparaently will call back eventually.
I don't know what kind of a problem is ahead if I change surgeon's. I've put a call into one and will find out I guess. I have been through every test that was ever created I think, and now that I'm down to pre-op appt. have no idea if my date next Friday will be kept. This really sucks!
What about all those people from last Friday through this week? They should be worked in next week also. I've never had anything like this happen and on the boards for people having surgery in January I don't see anyone post anything like this. If someone is cancelled it's usually insurance or some other test that is needed.
Never something where "we don't know when the doctor is returning". Doesn't that sound kind of wierd?????
Knowing that she is the only surgeon in that office, you would think they would have had some sort of back up plan, maybe had something worked out with another surgeon. They said they were going to have a teleconference with the doctor this afternoon. I certainly hope she instructs them how to handle things, they have no clue otherwise......
Wow, how frustrating. I am so sorry Carole. I think I would be a bit demanding that you be one of the first people fit in for next week. I wonder if there was a death in the family or something. It is very odd for a dr with a weeks full of appts just be out. Whatever the case, I think it would hinder you to change surgeons unless she is going to be out for weeks.
