Anissa, hmm I haven't seen or heard anything about bruising after WLS surger, plastics yes but not WLS. Specially since you have never been a bruiser. I would post this on the main board, you might get some answers from some oldtimers. Sorry you are having such a rough time of it. Does it still hurt and do you have pain meds? Take care hon!! Anna

I havent been on pain meds since I came home from the hospital on Sunday. They gave me something (Vicodin) for home, but it didnt make me feel very good so I just cut it out altogether. Really... I am feeling GREAT, all things considering. Yesterday I even had a few 'Oh yeah, I just had surgery' moments. I have a little pressure at times in my stomach area, but other than that.. no pain. I was in the ER Tuesday night, because I started vomitting blood. After the xrays and blood tests, I was told it was just old blood that needed somewhere to go since I didnt have a drain. Ever since then.. I have felt so normal.. apart from the whole sucky diet thing! lol and no.. the bruising doesnt hurt.

Well I am really glad you are not in any pain. I am glad to hear that the blood thing turned out to be nothing and that you are well on your way to recovery!! Anna

I'm only three days out (Lap RNY) but the only bruising I've had so far was from the blood thinner shots. Looks like someone fired a BB gun at me and had a field day lol. Other than that, no bruising from the surgical locations. I'm glad to hear you aren't in pain and otherwise doing well though! Wishing you the best!

HOLY MOLY!! I had some pretty good bruises after surgery (still do) but nothing like that! It's true that each of us responds to the heparin differently but geez, looks like you went 10 rounds! I wouldn't worry about it too much. Bruises get worse before they get better! Tina

I have some of those bright blue/purple bruises you have, especially at the site of the blood thinner and my drain site. I'm four days post op and the bruises are starting to increase around the lap incisions. I think I am going to start drawing dot to dot pictures to amuse myself
