Atlantic Surgical - 1st Meeting with Dr. Looser
Well, I have gone through all the millions of steps that are required for the surgery and yesterday met with Dr. Looser. I weighed in at EXACTLY what I was suppose to to meet the required 10% EBW loss. I was thrilled about that since I had a few set backs over the holidays and then a killer bout of PMS. Anyway, he seemed very nice and real. We went over the same things they talk about with you like a million times and he said that I may only need to be in the hospital for about 2-3 days, probably 2 with no complications. Now what they need to do is take all the paperwork, put it together and send it over to Harvard Pilgrim. He says HP is pretty good about quick turnaround times and we should hear within 2 weeks, maybe a bit longer. And IF we get an approval than my date can be set for within a week or two of that time. I am tottally pumped about that, so anywhere between 3-6 weeks left to go. I hate this part the most, the not knowing of what the next step will be, surgery or appeal if I am denied. I just want to get in there and get this journey started! Anyone have any expereince with Atlantic Surgical and Harvard P? Anyone know how i can stop myself from going crazy in the next month?
I have Dr. Looser for my surgeon... having RNY on the 29th. I have been really impressed with their program and with PRH. I had my first meeting with him Dec 14th... then applied to insurance for auth. Ended up needing more stuff. It is all in my blog on my profile. Saw you had the same people I do. Good luck with getting your auth & on losing your 10% EBW!!!
