Today is my 1 week anniversary!!

One week ago this morning I had my surgery. I had open RNY. It went better than I thought it would & was only in the hospital for 2 days. My family has been great. I am getting this food thing figured out--- 6 small meals a days. My Dr. office said to spread my wings & try everything!! So I have had some good foods already & are going down fine. I have not been sick, or dumped. I finally had a BM, I coughed & sneezed too!! I walk outside everyday. My mom came to stay with me for 2 days. It was great-- she cooked,cleaned & took care of me!! We even did a little shopping, picked my daughter up at daycare & I gave her a haircut!! So, I have been active---- feeling really good!! I know-- don't over do it!! I won't. Today I have the house to my self & I 'm going to relax & watch some movies!! I am only taking 2 weeks off & when I get these staples out- I'll be back to work!!! My incision is HUGE -- about 16 inches long!! I acutally quit taking pain meds a couple days ago--- they are gross & I have tried everything to get them down.... YUCK!! I feel great- so I guess NO pain!! Well, just wanted to update everyone & say hi!! Keep your comments & helpfull hints coming!!!!! Love to ya all- Sheri (oh yeah!!! & I'm down a few pounds too!!) Sheri...sorry I didn't see this post before I asked how you were doing on the other post. Wow...open RNY and you are only taking off 2 weeks! You are really doing awesome! Keep it up! Rhonda

Sheri, Yay for you!! I'm so glad that you're doing so well. Keeping active (although not TOO active) is the best thing for you! I am one week post op today too (although I had lap band). Isn't it a wonderful thing to know we're well on our way to our brand new life? Tina

Woooooooot!!! Congrats Sheri. I am so happy to hear you are doing so good. Now it is time to just pamper yourself!! Take it easy till you go back to work...everything else will wait.
