Hi Gina, I would do it too. ...it's a very practical idea. God forbid something should happen. ...most likely nothing will......but we never know. We could get killed, God forbid in a car crash any day of the week. It''s a very good idea, if not for any other reason than that itself. None of us are promised another day of life. I am a big believer in being realistic that way. I did one and had it notarized and gave it to my son. He would be my power of attorney. He's grown, not a kid. ...but if you have no one to trust/ or anyone to help, then do it legally. go for it, and take good care of your son cissy

Gina, I had both a POA and both a living will and regular will. Be sure that the living will is included in your stuff with the lawyer (it should be part of the package). Then when you go in for your pre-op appt at the hospital, take copies with you and it goes straight into your file. That way if, although they won't, needed it, they have it. Tina

I hadnt thought of this but after reading your post I am looking into it. I am a single mother and I feel that if my children's father is not mentally capable of taking care of them.
