Hooray, I'm finally a "post op"!

Well, my open DS is all done, and I do have to say that it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It hurt, and I now have a little tummy-alien that talks to me, , but overall I'd do it again. I can't wait to start seeing results!

open DS? tummy alien? what surgery did you have???

I had the duodenal switch procedure, done open as opposed to lap. The "tummy alien" refers to the weird gurgly noises that you hear after doing stuff like eating or drinking. It's not a permanent thing. A lot of people call it their alien (like the movie, the guy with the alien in his belly,) because the noises can be loud and very strange.
