I noticed OH sells Med ID bracelets for bariatric surgery patients that say NO NG TUBE. I didn't know this was an issue. Do I really need to get one? Why no NG tube? My surgery is on the 11th! WooHoo!!!!

Elizabeth here is what I found out. Post Date: 1/2/07 5:50 am It's a personal preference on the Med ID's..I got one because I just hate to take chances(I try to cover all bases all the time). No blind NG tube is because after surgery if you have to be tubed they can punture your stomach if they are not aware you've had GB...Gppd luck! Dede

NG tube stands for naso-gastric tube. It is a tube that they run through your nose into your stomach. My sister also listed "no blind intubation" on hers also.
