Ready to be switched - JANUARY 18th!!
WOW!! DS on Jan. 18 too.. My BMI is 44 too! It's meant to be.. lol! AND you're from Maryland.. I grew up in the Annapolis area!
I was hoping that I'd find someone with the same surgery date but wow.. so mu*****ommon!
It's hard to explain how excited I am!!!!
When I was about to have the RNY a few months back.. I froze.. I stalled.. I got so scared and nervous that I couldn't do it.. but now looking forward to the DS.. I'm SO ready I would do it today, tomorrow, yesterday..
I'm so excited!! Everyone is being so supportive too, I've been getting so many calls from friends & family recently - they all want to come visit me in the hospital!
Time is going to pass so quickly.. 2 weeks & 6 days!! That's like.. tomorrow!! LoL..
I wish you luck and I'll keep you in my prayers.. It's wonderful that we'll be experiencing it all at the same time - PLEASE keep in touch!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
CONGRATS!!! It's so exciting to finally have a date!!!
I've heard that it's completely normal to be scared.. trust me, I've lost a lot of sleep.. but I know what I want out of my life and I'll do what it takes!
And while I'm ready for this.. I know I'm still going to cry like a baby while they're wheeling me into the operatory.. It's normal to be afraid of what you can't control.. I have faith in my surgeon though.. so I'm sure I'll be just fine.
I wish you luck and success.. keep in touch!!
Congratulations Palmer,
I think if the surgery had been December 5th --that was the first schedule date we talked about, but I wanted to wait and have it after the New Year because I'm a minister and during the holiday season I receive a lot of invitations to preach in various places --- and it happened. Plus I didn't want to be in pain during the holiday, which didn't make much difference because I was at work on Christmas and that was pain enough. I'm glad I waited until Janaury because that gave me time to continue to wrap my brain around this permanent life change in food and personality. My partner told me she is going to have to travel with a baseball bat to keep the other women off me. She had the surgery 3 years ago and is doing well and is very supportive. A close friend had it in March of this year and she is also doing well.
So between my partner, friends, and folk on OB -- I'm not nervous yet, just excited. I'll probably get nervous on Jan 2nd when I go for all my pre-op meetings and paperwork signing.
