Thrown a curve

My surgery is scheduled for Jan 10th. Today I received a call telling me that something abnormal showed up on my pre-op EKG. Now everything is in limbo. It is back to the cardiologist. If he doesn;t clear me then the surgery will be postponed. I am so ticked off. Sorry for venting here. I needed to tell someone. Richard

Oh, that is frustrating. I understand why you're ticked. Hopefully everything checks out and you can still go on schedule. If not, just try and remember that it may be for the best. I know the waiting game isn't easy. Much luck to you.

I agree with Cathryn. Obstacles are very frustrating but you don't want to play around with your health. But, it doesn't change the fact that they still suck. I am so sorry and I hope things work out for you. Tell someone to give you a big hug of encouragement for me and keep us posted.

Don't get too discouraged. I had my pre-ops and they said that I had an abnormal EKG and they even thought that I had a silent heart attack. Well, that freaked me out and I went to the cardiologist and he took one look at my EKG and said that it was normal. He did a stress test because I have had chemotherapy and that was normal too. I will be praying that you will have the same experience as I did and I will be thinking about you on the 9th, that's the day of my surgery.

Good Morning! I want to thank you all for your words of wisdom and encouragement. After recovering from the initial shock of this news, I have decided to look at it from a positive point of view and be grateful that if there is anything seriously wrong it was discovered before it was too late to treat or correct. It is all in God's hands. I should have know better and just turned it over to Him to begin with. Richard

There you go Richard. That is the only way to look at this surgery. I figure with all the tests they send us through, if anything is wrong it will be found and corrected prior to the surgery. We are human and God knows that some of us (present company included) will try to handle things before we remember that we have placed ourselves in the hands of God many times and all has turned out well. Keep the faith dude -- that's all we have to do --- keep the faith. Blessings

I can only imagine... I'm waiting for my surgeon's office to call me to do my pre-op tests and I'm hoping they do so soon cuz I'm going nuts waiting!! I'm tentatively scheduled for Jan 9th and already have my time off from work set up and my mom has her days off... she and I are both working around college and job schedules so it would be an absolute nightmare if I had to try to change my date!! I'm hoping everything goes as smooth as it has up to this point!!
