Surgery the 1st of January
Hi! I had my consultation on October 27th and I am having my surgery the second Monday in January. I am a 21 year old college student who lives with my fiance. I am from Maine. I am trying to get some support with losing the 10% of weight that needs to be lost in order to have the surgery; which is 25 pounds. The doctor said I don't have to lose it all but I need to lose at least 12-15...I find that this will be hard. I need support on what to eat and that it is so worth it. Sometimes I feel like I can't so it and its not worth it. I need help with knowing what peoples experiences with the surgery were...complications/no complications. I have no health problems, only weight problems....so I don't have to stress about that...but I am worry about dying or not healing right or not being able to enojy food after surgery. Help!
Hi Melissa,
My name is Ali and I am having my surgery on January 8th, the same day as you I believe. I am also a 21 year old college student. My surgeon isn't requiring a pre-op diet. I don't have many answers for you except to read the forums. I have the same fears as you (dying, not being able to enjoy food etc.) but reading the other peoples posts have helped a lot. Good luck and everything will be great!
