Topic: Get your Vit-D and B12 levels checked. ALL OLD TIMERS!! You can gain weight!
I had my RNY Jan 23 2006, Tummy tuck April 16 2007 and lost a total of 140lbs. BUT I have gained about 38lbs back and felt like a FAILURE!!!!!!!! I have had some new things come up recently. I have been really frustrated by me gaining some weight back. But I felt so tired, NOT wanting to do anything really. No desire to get up and exercise or anything. Right after surgery I had NO complications what so ever and was very happy I did have the surgery. Never have I regretted it. So when I went to my Dr. 1 month ago I told her and she said she wanted to run some tests for me, just to see if I was deficient in anything and also check my thyroid. Well results came back, my thyroid is fine. Normal levels for vitamin D is 20-100 and my level was 9. (SUPER LOW) Normal levels for B12 is 200-1100 and mine was 169. So she said that was probably the cause of my fatigue. So she prescribed me 50,000IU vitamin D to take 2 times a week and 1,000IU OTC everyday. Then I was getting B12 shots every 6 months at Duke, she wants me to get one every month. Now after 12 weeks I go back for more lab tests to see what my levels will be at. Also my dang migraines and BAD nausea from the migraines don't help much with NOT wanting to do anything. I have come too far to let this beat me. I have a wedding in a year, I want to TRY and look beautiful in my wedding dress. (Our wedding is April 4 2009) Good news is I have already lost 8lbs. So now it is a struggle and you do have to work at it, also GET your b-12 and vitamin D levels CHECKED!!!!!!!!!

Hey You! So great to hear from you! I am glad that things are going well. Why was your last round of PS rough? Physically or emotionally? I am starting to feel downright jealous of you guys who were able to get PS!! My body is becoming more and more of a source of misery for me. I would not change a thing, mind you...but I would like to cease looking like a Sharpei! Sending you sunny thoughts!! Love and hugs, JM

Hey Suzan: I haven't really been here, either, since the new year. Hoping that changes but it all depends on work... Congrats on your tummy tuck! Are you happy with the results? Hugs, JM

Good Morning All, Just wanted to share with my OH family that I got engaged this Saturday. My sweet & loving boyfriend asked me. He made a home video where he told me his feelings and how much I mean to him. He then did the traditional get down on one knee and asked. I am so excited & can't wait to start planning. Hugs to you all, Carly

Hey Teresa, Was in Paris last year with my wife for two days. We covered an amazing amount of ground in two days. My favorite spot was the Sac Le Coeur. Something like that. It's a church up on a hill that overlooks the entire city. Metro will take you real close and then just walk up the street. Don't let the kids tie a string to your finger!!! You'll be there for a long time while they make you a bracelet. Lol. Also the cemetaries are amazing. Jim Morrison (The Doors) is buried in Paris. We did a Segway tour that was well worth the money and was extremely fun while seeing all the sights with a tour guide. Check that out. Unlike the popular media's opinion of French people being rude to Americans...totally misleading. The people were great and friendly. Have fun. I've got a pic or two on my profile from Paris. Andre
