Kay,
I looked long and hard at surgery in Mexico and Brazil. I think both places would be great but I did not like to be so far away from home if something went wrong.
The price is sure right!

Kay,
One thing to keep in mind is that while the surgeries might be more cost effective in foreign countries, sometimes the follow-up care that you might need here negates that. I consulted first with a plastics man here in Houston (one of the top reconstruction surgeons) and he was telling my husband and me about how many patients he sees that went out of the country and then needed follow-up here once the original procedure was complete, whether for touchups or more serious complications. Some docs won't touch work that was originally done out of the country.
Before getting my body lift, my wonderful hubby and I really did our research and after-care was something that kept coming up in these cases.

Hi Kay. I would say, as with any surgery in the states...do your research! Some people make it seem like doing surgery in a hispanic country is a call of the devil. There are many surgeries that happen right here that don't go as planned and can cause the most extreme situations. Brazil is the "look good" capital of the world almost!! If you don't look like a model there, you should be banned
I actually WOULD consider going there for a procedure. Hell..some of the docs are probably experts on some of these procedures and have done thousands!! The warning I would give is to make sure you do LOTS LOTS AND LOTS of research. Not only on the docs, but the facililties, the country, the people, traveling, etc. Make sure you take EVERYTHING into account. We become so excited about ideas that we sometimes miss the smallest of things which are the most important. Either way..good luck and keep up posted.

Topic: Brazil
Hey ladies,
I'm at work and it's very slow so I've been reading up on plastic surgery and plastic surgeons! I have become obsessed with this lately. I was reading the plastic surgery board and someone mentioned traveling to mexico for surgery because they were sick of fighting with insurance and the price in the states was way too expensive for me. I clicked on some link as I was reading different things and found a place in Brazil! The price of surgery there compared to the price here is insane. It's so cheap there!
Ok, Ok, I'm rambling.. My point and question ..
Would you ever travel to Brazil or Mexico for plastic surgery??
I have lost over 250 lbs. and the amout of skin I have is horrible!!!
So watcha think?? I'm desperate at this point!

It looks like the tear is repairing itself and should be healed in no time. She sould not see any bleed to speak of and said, had it not been there on the prior ultrasound, she would not call it a tear now. Maybe just a very very tiny bleed.
HB was 150 BPM. Measuring 8.4, 8.3 and 8.2 so that is right in range. The baby looks great.
I do have a slight protein s deficiency that sould cause some clotting problems. For, now we are continuing on the asprin therapy.
I got a rhogam shot due to the bleed. I only ever got them at 28 weeks and then at birth before. This is a new thing they are doing with first trimester bleeds.
I go next week to get hooked up to a 3 day glucose monitor. She wants to see my spikes and dips. I told her I thought I was having hypoglycemic episodes again. She is going to try to figure it out.
She could not see my ovary to check out the cyst - too much bowel gas - gee thanks. I am constipated soooo ... TMI I know.
