My daughter is in the process of getting the surgery. I thought this site was gone, but I was searching for the wrong name. I don't know if any of you will read this post. It might be fun to catch up. My life has changed, several times, and all for the good. I wouldn't be alive today if I hadn't gotten the surgery, I know that.
I reached my goal a year after surgery. I sort of maintained it, but I was always a little heavier than I wanted to be. Then I crept up a few pounds and found myself hitting 150. I had been around 143 and decided to stop it. I did. I am now at the weight I really wanted to be at, 134-136.
I was there once, actually was down to 114. It was too low, so my doctor said to gain weight. That is what put me over 140. It is funny how the weight looks different after years of being thinner. When I was this weight when gaining, it made me look ill. Now I look healthy. I have less loose skin. My hip bump, that never went away, is smaller than before.
Anyway, hope to hear from others here.

I know its hard to believe it will be nine years out for me on the 27th.. Whoo Hoo!! I have to say I have done amazingly considering there are so many "ill gotten" things out there on the market that could send me into a "purple haze" lol .... So happy you have done great also... I have such a fear of going back down the lonely road I was on so many years of my life till makes me stronger for sure. Still sticking to the plan I was given and climb that hill everyday to live a healthy and longer life for my family and also because I matter.... CONGRATS to you!!!
Karma....What would life be without it? 250lbs gone! 410/160... Life's sweet!

Hi all. Not sure *****members me here. It's been quite a long time since I've even visited these boards. Wondering if there is anyone who had surgery way back when that is having a problem with weight gain associated with alcohol transference addiction? I know I can't be the only one out there. I need resources and well, my surgeon's office doesn't even have a single solitary person that I know! The practice has gone thru 4 surgeons and countless staff.
If you don't feel like posting to this thread, I would still love to hear from you. My email is [email protected].
P.S.... I guess I should update my profile pic since I'm not quite as thin anymore.
This site if completly out or order for years... I came just for curiosity and found your post. I hope your life is nos so overwhelming...
when I had the surgery I sincerely imagined that losing all my overweight will make may life easier... reality is that life is tough being obese or not...
