NO, NO, NO!!!  I was not avoiding her question!!!  I DID respond to her post and, as a matter of fact, when Ronna responded to MY post, my original post was attached to the email notification I received when Ronna replied...

NOT pregnant!!  That factory is CLOSED!!!!

I do the Wal Mart brand of vits too. I do the weight conscious multi vitamins. Don't know if it really makes a difference or not. I think it's the calcium citrate that most people seem to think you need to take. My DR personally said either one. I just got the equate calcium citrate with vit D. I also have not taken anything in monthes and monthes or I take them for a week and forget again. My blood work is fine except for iron. I'm anemic, but I've fought that all my life, even presurgery. Right now I'm taking a multi, a B vit. complex, 2 calcium, zinc, vit C and 2 calcium. I just do the zinc in the winter time because it seems to keep colds away for me (along with the vit C which you should take with iron anyway cuz it makes the iron absorb better!)

Oh, just a FYI, a lot of people I know swear by the multi vit packs you get at GNC. It has a pack of 7 or so? and they come somewhat customized (like by age or activity or whatever I believe). They are expensive though.
Hugs n stuff!
Renee

I've been using the Equate brand for the last year, a B12/BComplex combo from Trader Joe's and the calcium citrate supplement. My doc told me that our bodies can only absorb so much calcium at one time, so you can't take all the calcium at once, it needs to be spaced out.  I take my multi in the a.m. and another calcium citrate 500mg with the Vit D. in the evening.  My blood work has been great.  B12 was a little low last time, so I've upped my dosage.

I take Calcium Citrate.  do not take with your iron though--the iron will not absorb.  I take 2 chewable multivits, B-100 complex, B12 sublingual, Vit D-2000 I.U.  Twice a week extra chewable iron, 4 fish oil caps.  Labs are excellent.

swallow type b12's may not work as most of the stomach has been "removed" so to speak and you need the "intrinsic factor" to absorb the vitamin which comes from the stomach itself.  Sublingual, nasal, patch or injection are the best for absorption.
