Wednesday Accountability
Good morning!
Okay, so...UGH...I edited my Accountability post yesterday (I do like that feature, actually, in this new format) to update my failings yesterday. :( TOTALLY lost it in the evening but I am going to try to be stronger today (WHY was Monday, the first day, so darn easy? Phooey!).
This is my PLAN today...
B: 3 oz. chicken
S: 21 oz. New Whey Protein
L: Either 2 hardboiled eggs...or sushi/salad/clear soup (I have sushi plans but not sure I want to venture out in this weather!)
S: 21 oz New Whey Protein
S#2: Update...also had a Quaker snack...DAMN!
S#3: Update...4 lemon drops (double damn!)
D: 3 oz. tilapia with some artichokes and tomatoes.
Update: D: Two chicken legs (curry chicken)
Update: S: 5 tiny bites of my son's chocolate chip ice cream
Gunna try to stay FAR away from the lemon drops and from the Quaker snacks. They are so good that, when I eat them, I want to KEEP eating them!!
Hope everyone has a successful day!
Love and hugs,
JM

I looked at what you are eating today and I don't think you are getting enough calories :) Those protein things are good for protein but they go right through you and don't satisfy you - please don't think I am being critical - you loose alot of empathy and tone when writing e-mails.
You should try a cheese stick or cottage cheese for those snacks - it might keep you fuller longer or just three more ounces of chicken, turkey or tuna.
My doctor strongly suggests no liquid calories because it does not satisfy...just some food for thought.
Again, these are just suggestions and I know the liquid protein is easy and a no brainer, but I KNOW I would be starving on what you are eating.
I have to tell myself daily that they did surgery on my stomach not my head and I battle those food demons as well.
Happy Wednesday!
Rhonda
I know you are absolutely correct about what you are saying (furthermore, I love that you took the time to tell me...thank you for caring about me!!). This is my M.O., though...it's the ONLY way that I can do this. It is the wrong way but, for me, again, the only way.
I do eat normally and fairly responsibly much of the time...but, when I go off the deep end (which I did in a big, big way), I have to become hyper-restrictive to detox. And my "deep end" this time had WAY too long of a run. I had been eating whatever I want...as much as I want...from October through New Years.
I will not sustain with this kind of eating (I can't). I am averaging about 700 calories a day. I know this is crazy and I know that it puts my body into starvation mode. But I am very vigilant about taking my vitamins and protein (and water which, for me, is very difficult) and doing this DOES take some weight off...which is my goal. When it stops working, I start to eat like a normal person again (not a person who overeats...just my normal self) and it balances out.
But, for now, I feel like a new post-op. I have that awful, hollow tummy feeling much of the time...but the scale is responding which is good for my psyche.
Okay...I am rambling. Bottom line...thank you for caring enough about me to post your concerns!!
Love and hugs,
JM

Planned snack mid afternoon - Yoplait Light Key Lime Pie
Dinner: 2 egg omlete w/1 slice low fat cheese
Evening snack: apple or pear

Those quaker rice cake snacks, if that's what you're eating are addictive! I'd eat a whole bag of those damn cheddar ones! Ugh! Oh well, maybe my body will adapt to the lower calories and Monday I could try the 5DPT again and the liquids and other foods won't seem so bad or such a little amount!

I am with you, girl. Monday was FINE for me...dunno why. Tuesday and Wednesday were HARD. Almost impossible. I did end up keeping it in check but, again, I think it is for the same reason as you. During the holidays I was eating SOOO much that even eating a reasonable amount is so much less. :(
I should REALLY ditch the Quaker snacks. First of all, they are stupid expensive but, OMG, I love them. The ones I eat are the 90-calorie packs. I think they are called Mini Delights and I love the drizzled caramel. You are right...they are addictive. If I could have them be my whole source of nutritional intake, I would be a happy woman. But they are nothing but empty calories. Waaaah!!
Anyhoo...here's hoping we BOTH get back on track!! Have a successful day!

Last night as I was drifting off to sleep, I was thinking about how happy I was that this board has picked up. And I was also thinking that I am glad I am posting my daily menu because it REALLY helps me. Then, in a flash I thought...wait a minute, Kay used to do this...and then I was thinking that I was going to write you again to see if you would come visit the board. I log on today and here you are! YAY!!
Congratulations on getting back to your lowest weight!! I hope you had a great holiday!
Happy new year!
Love and hugs,
JM
