Hi all! It's been awhile since I've been around I know! I have successfully lost 170 pounds and kept it off!! It's amazing what a blessing this surgery has been and I remember being only months out worrying I wasn't losing fast enough or is this really going to work and I assure you it does. My question is this, as of late I have been having a really stressful time as I am juggling work, graduate school and a family. In the past 2 weeks it has become unbearably painful right before I eat something. It is a sharp jabbing pain that travels all under my ribcage. I have been wondering if this was stress related but I've figured out that if I eat something the pain usually goes away. Now that I'm looking around online some things might suggest an ulcer or other type of stomach problem. Anyone have any suggestions? Anything like this happen to anyone else? It's not like I don't eat because I do manage to eat breakfast, morning snack, lunch, sometimes something in the afternoon and evening dinner. I think I'm going to start running a log of WHAT I am eating because I'm not sure if it's enough protein. I'm running through all kinds of scenerios in my mind and I was hoping someone has gone through something similar or has any advice! thanks you guys!

My guess, as it is a guess, is is an ulcer. You need to get it checked out. It can become a problem, other than extremely painful. Until you can get in, start taking pepcid each day to cut down on the acids, don't eat spicy foods and try some milk. I had one and it became a bleeding ulcuer, so it needs to be checked out. Good luck and congratulations

Hi Jennifer, I agree it sounds like it could be an ulcer. I was on prevacid otc and it helped. Good luck and hope you feel better. Hugs, Chris
